OKR Rollout at Evangelische Bank
Strategy
Strategic clarity and flexible goal adjustment are not a contradiction – with the right framework, both can go hand in hand. Evangelische Bank introduced the OKR system to actively engage employees, strengthen ownership, and sustainably establish an agile organizational culture.
The Assignment
To remain strategically capable of acting while staying flexible in a dynamic world, Evangelische Bank decided to implement the OKR methodology. The aim was to actively involve employees in strategy development, promote a sense of ownership, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration. The introduction was carefully prepared – through a targeted pilot phase, the training of internal OKR coaches, and comprehensive methodological support during the company-wide rollout.
Our Approach
1. Pilot Phase & Strategic Preparation
We started with a selected division to pilot the OKR methodology. The goal was to gain initial experience, adapt the framework to existing structures, and lay the foundation for a scalable rollout.
2. Process Design & Communication Structure
Based on insights from the pilot, strategic processes were aligned with the OKR framework and adapted across the organization. Interfaces, communication paths, and decision-making processes were clearly defined and optimized for strategic impact.
3. Company-wide Rollout Support
The OKR introduction was then scaled across the entire organization – supported by coaching, process consulting, and continuous methodological guidance.
4. Parallel Training of Internal OKR Coaches
Alongside the pilot, 20 employees were trained as OKR coaches to build in-house expertise and ensure long-term support for the rollout from within the organization.
The Result
Evangelische Bank now operates with a clear strategic focus that remains adaptable. Employees are actively involved in shaping goals and take ownership. Internal interfaces have been clarified, and an agile organizational culture has been firmly established. 20 internal OKR coaches ensure the sustainability of the new way of working.
