The Assignment

In close collaboration with the European Startup Prize for Mobility, we conducted a Europe-wide study in 2021, 2022, and 2023. More than 500 mobility startups were systematically surveyed to capture key challenges, funding needs, and regulatory barriers. The results culminated in a European action plan, which we presented to the European Commission and the European Parliament—with the support of MEP Karima Delli. The goal was to initiate policy measures to improve the funding landscape and innovation conditions for mobility startups in Europe. Additional reports with concrete action steps were presented on European expert platforms.

Our Approach

1. Annual Data Collection & Analysis

Across three consecutive years, we conducted EU-wide surveys with over 500 mobility startups, gathering insights on funding needs, regulatory barriers, access to infrastructure, and the use of data and AI in mobility innovation.

2. Identification of Strategic Policy Areas

Survey results were synthesized into key fields for political action – including financing, scaling challenges, infrastructure access, regulatory conditions, and the growing importance of AI and data-driven solutions in European mobility ecosystems.

3. Development of a European Action Plan

We translated these insights into a strategic action plan, including specific policy recommendations on support mechanisms, data utilization, innovation promotion, and the integration of digital technologies into the EU’s mobility agenda.

4. Political Presentation at the EU Level

The action plan was presented to the European Commission and the European Parliament with the support of Karima Delli, Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Transport and Tourism.
