Developing Health-Promoting, Cross-Generational Leadership Formats for mkk
Innovation
Healthy leadership is a key driver of performance, motivation, and employee retention – especially in the space between traditional leadership approaches and the expectations of younger generations. This project focused on empowering leaders to establish health-promoting, cross-generational leadership within the organization, and to co-develop innovative, needs-based solutions.
The Assignment
The goal of this project was to evolve existing programs for health-promoting leadership and to design innovative, digital (blended learning) formats tailored to the needs of both experienced leaders and younger employees, particularly from Generation Z. At the heart of the process was a user-centered development approach aimed at sustainably strengthening health literacy within the organization.
Our Approach
1. Needs Analysis & User Research
We conducted qualitative interviews and workshops with subject matter experts, leaders, and employees from Generation Z to identify key requirements for health-promoting, generationally appropriate leadership and learning formats.
2. Creative Ideation & Prototyping
Together with users, we co-developed innovative leadership and learning formats – including digital and blended modules – based on the identified needs. Initial prototypes were refined through agile design processes.
3. Validation via Product Sprints
We applied iterative “Build-Measure-Learn” cycles to test, adapt, and further develop content, formats, and features in real-life scenarios.
4. Business Models & Transfer Strategy
We designed potential business and scaling models for internal implementation and external application, focusing on sustainable integration into existing learning environments and leadership development frameworks.
The Result
A validated MVP (Minimum Viable Product) was successfully developed – a modular learning and leadership format available in both digital and blended formats. It promotes health-oriented action and generation-appropriate communication, and is easily integrated into daily leadership practice. Additionally, strategic foundations were laid for scaling and possible external application.
